It is at the COLLECT annex @ 815 Broadway btwn 8-9 th st and Oakland: There is lot’s of awesome artwork up right now.

The film is directed by my dear friend CARY MOSIER : He is very talented

This is the deal.  The film is called May I Be Frank and it’s great.  Not only is it an inspiring film in my opinion but it is getting picked up by film festivals and headed to big places!  I met Cary this summer and he decided that he would like to share it with our community over here so please come out Friday and check it out.

May I Be Frank documents the transformation of Frank Ferrante’s life. Frank, a 54 year old Sicilian from Brooklyn finds himself living in San Francisco struggling with addiction and depression. He is severely overweight and must rely on pharmaceutical drugs to combat his Hepatitis C.

One day Frank unknowingly stumbles into a local restaurant in San Francisco. Frank is asked by a server what is one thing he wants to do before he dies. Franks response is fall in love one more time, but doesn’t believe it can happen with the way things are going for him.

Initially believing he was just going to lose some weight and get healthy, Frank had no idea it would affect so many aspects of his life. The film becomes documentation about the human condition, and what it means to really fall in love again.

Kevin Randolph’s light show

Last Friday Geremia Design hosted a lovely party to celebrate the unique creations of lighting designer, Kevin Randolph.  Kevin was able to make 30 fixtures exclusively for our gallery which we are selling at prices we can afford.  The lights range in size and type and are marked at  $175-850.

KR’s lights are much more like fine art pieces.  They are handmade with love from recycled objects he comes across in his daily routine.  They really do stand out to us as something special.  Please come by the studio at 465 9th st in Oakland over the next couple of weeks to check it out  in person.

The party was a huge success.  Daily Candy mentioned it in their blog on Friday so we had lot’s of new faces in the space.  http://www.dailycandy.com/all-cities/article/76022/Reuse-Lighting-by-Kevin-Randolph. Our events are picking up.  It was great to chat with new people about the artwork and our projects in the bay area!

Valerie J. Cochran took amazing photos that night.  GD has found our new event photographer.
